My friend Lou has been married for 10 years. She and her husband have four kids are trying to see how they can celebrate their tenth anniversary. They want to have a quiet celebration out of the country. They also have a lot of stuff so they don’t really need much. Since they don’t plan on having a party, I decided I would give them an anniversary gift basket.

Anniversary gift baskets are elegant and classy gifts. This is perfect for couples who may need much or want much. There are several themes to choose from. You can get baskets with wine and cheese. You can also get spa themed baskets. You can even get love themed baskets filled with chocolates and other adorable gifts.

After years of living together, taking care of your kids from infanthood to adulthood, you find yourself in an empty nest. It is just you and your spouse. Things will seem a little weird at first but eventually you will learn to appreciate the set-up. Now you have the time to do things that you have been wanting to do. You relish this but somehow there are some things that make you stop and think.

You have always planned your anniversary gift with the connivance of your daughter. You do the shopping together and make an outing out of it. You meet for lunch and you will each have rough ideas on what to get her daddy for our anniversary. You hit the stores checking out things that you had in mind. You will invariably come up with something that he can use. It always had a little bit of a teaser to go with it. With her help, choosing an anniversary gift was always fun.

Anniversary clocks

It is very bothersome to have to remember to wind a clock often just so it will continue to give accurate time. Anniversary clocks were made to run for a year or more without being wound. This sparked the idea that they are ideal gifts for weddings and birthdays because you only have to wind it up again one year after.

A lot of anniversary clocks are sold in the market today. If you’re thinking of giving one as a gift, here are some suggestions:

a.A gold-plated anniversary clock can be given to the graduate about to start on his first job, or the employee who has just been promoted at work

b.A portrait anniversary clock can be given to a very special person in your life so that you are remembered for all time.

c.A glass dome anniversary clock adds a touch of elegance to any office or room

d.An executive desk clock is perfect for the all business entrepreneur

e.A solid brass pedestal clock are ideal for couples celebrating their anniversary f.A brass carriage style clock can be given to a grandparent who will delight at its nostalgic quality

The age of convenience have included clocks that need not be wound for more than a year. Anniversary clocks are aptly named because they were created to run for over a year without winding and are ideal gifts for weddings or birthdays.

The inspiration came from the idea that anniversary clocks can simply be wound every time the anniversary comes around once a year. Although the original clocks come in quartz style, a lot of new ones now are battery operated.

The traditional way of chilling a bottle of wine is by putting it in a refrigerator and waiting for an hour or so. Another way would be to get a bucket of ice and plunge the bottle in it.

However, it is not all the time that ice cubes are available or the waiting time when chilling via a fridge may take too long. A wine cooler is the best alternative. In just a few minutes, the wine will be chilled to the right temperature for serving. No long wait, no messy ice cubes.

Traditional Wedding Anniversary Gift Ideas

Traditional wedding anniversary gifts are chosen from a list of materials that are designated for each year. The first wedding anniversary is symbolized with paper, and from there traditional anniversary gifts become more precious or scarce to reflect the growing number of years a couple has remained together.

Wedding Anniversary Customs

No one is certain just when the traditional gift list came into existence, but it probably evolved over time. Calling years twenty-five and fifty ‘Silver’ and ‘Gold’ may have originated in medieval Europe, where wives were given a silver wreath to celebrate their twenty-fifth year of marriage and a gold wreath for their fiftieth wedding anniversary.
