Are Baby Gift Sets for the Parents or the Baby?

Thursday, April 28, 2011

As it turns out, when you give baby a gift it turns out sometimes to be a gift for the parents. Will baby care for a new set of blankets? How about baby gift sets containing baby feeding bottles? These are things that parents are supposed to get for the baby. I would not consider them baby gifts.

In my dictionary a baby gift set will be something that baby will really enjoy. For the very young, it will be an interactive toy. Poke a button and a voice will greet the baby. Strike a box and out pops a jolly potato head. That will be something that baby will enjoy.

Create a Personalized Baby Basket

If you can make gifts for your friends, why not make them for new babies? I don’t mean for you to sew booties and mittens and embroider a whole baby layette. I mean, why not compose your own baby baskets? It will be so much more fun than picking a readymade one from a catalogue. You will also have the power of choosing the right things for the baby.

It is an easy process. The fun starts in shopping for things that you will want to put in the basket. Putting in toys together with consumable items will be a good combination. There will be something for baby to play with and something for Mommy to use. Arrange them nicely in a basket or any other container. Add some decorative items, wrap in a see-through wrapper and you have the perfect gift for a new baby.

The Nursery

I love visiting my girl friends who have just given birth. I also visit my male friends whose wives have just had a baby. I like going up to the nursery to see all those cute babies in pink or blue swaddles. There are times that the babies are room-ins with their mothers. This is good too as the visitors can see the baby.

I usually like buying a baby girl gift basket for baby girls and cookie bouquets for the baby boys. The parents usually appreciate this, I notice, because they write these down in the baby books under “Who Visited Me at the Hospital” or under “Gifts”. It’s charming actually, specially for first time parents, because they even take pictures of the guests.

Gifts for Baby

The best gift that anybody can give is something that is going to be useful for the recipient. Depending on your budget, one of the best baby shower gifts that you can give would be the stroller. You are definitely assured that this would be very useful and highly appreciated by the soon to be parents. Since it is on the expensive end, there is a higher chance that nobody will be giving the same kind of gift as you did.

There are other more affordable options for you to choose from. One of these would be the carrier which is also very useful to bring the baby out for walks or even just around the house. A baby bathtub is also one of the things that you’re sure the baby will always use. If you are not sure of what to give, you can always give gift cheques for baby stores to allow the parents to choose whatever is lacking for the baby’s needs. In the end, it will always be the thought that counts.

Welcoming someone to the world is always a reason to celebrate. One of the best ways to do this is by giving new baby gift baskets. The advantage of giving gift baskets is that you can customize it and match the contents with the recipient. The first thing you have to consider would be gender of course. It would also be good if you can actually find out what is actually needed.

There are a lot of items a new baby needs. From diapers to bottles, there are a lot of choices you can pick from. Try your best to find out what the baby needs if possible. Consumables are also a good gift to give like disposable diapers as well as milk, if you know the brand. Gift baskets are always a good gift idea but try to match the contents with the recipient as much as possible.

Just for Baby

There is nothing I like better than giving gifts. I genuinely like it better than receiving them. One of the best things about giving gifts is the time and effort that I put into selecting the best gift for a specific person. I specially love looking for unique baby gifts. Knowing that I was able to find something unique is a very exhilarating feeling for me.

I most specially like it when I see that the gift I gave is being put to good use. That is the ultimate reward for a gift giver. For babies, seeing the look on their parents’ face when they help open their child’s gift and finding out that this is needed or useful is worth the time and effort in looking for that perfect gift. Don’t just settle at giving a gift and try to look for the most unique gift for baby.

The big difference with your gift is that it is specially made for the baby. Unique personalized baby gifts have an added value that cannot be quantified. How nice to see the embroidered name of the baby on her blanket or shirt. But beyond that is the love and care that went into the idea of a personalized gift. It will be loved and cherished for a long time.

There are other ordinary items that can turn unique by being personalized. Take stuff toys with the baby’s name on it. How about baby bags and room décor. It will just take iron on stickers and cut out felt pasted on a plain baby bag. It can also be baby’s initials on a quilted wall hanger.

Gifting with Infant Clothes

When you think of something to gift a newborn baby, your options are predictable. You either think of giving a toy, infant clothes or baby care things. If you are the child’s grandparent or close relative, you might want to supply big ticket needs like the baby crib, stroller or playpen. On all fronts, there are always lots of choices. Your next problem is in deciding which will be appreciated most.

Don’t worry because any newborn baby gift will always be appreciated. Babies need frequent changes in clothing so clothes will always be appreciated. They will also quickly outgrow what the parents have stocked up on. To be on the safe side, send baby clothes that are a few sizes bigger than what he is wearing now. This will ensure that the clothes will not go to waste.

My whole family is a New York Yankees fan. We go to all their games as much as we can to show our support. If we are unable to, we watch the games at home. We are such avid fans that even my newborn is going to grow up a Yankees fan. Baby gifts came flooding in when Michaello came to our lives.

But the best gift he received is the Future Yankees MLB boy which included the Official Yankees “My First New York Yankees Tee” in Blue – (Size 3 -6 Months) , Official Yankees Teddy Bear, and Official Yankees Licensed Softee Bat and Ball Set.

Non-traditional Baby Gift Baskets

Thursday, January 20, 2011
posted by GiftGiver 3:50 PM

Baby baskets being given as gifts have never waned in popularity. They have, in fact, expanded their variety. We are familiar with traditional baby gift baskets that contain items that will pamper the baby. Usual items are baby bibs and bottles, picture frames packed with cuddly teddy bears and new baby care products. These are things that the baby can use and mommies will love.

Get out of the basket and think of something different. Instead of a basket, fill up a pretty boxy backpack diaper bag with nice things for the baby. The bag itself will open up to convert into a convenient changing station. It has a detachable pad for easy cleaning, storage for bottles and a removable dirty diaper pouch. Moms will love how there will be less digging because of its open and organized design. Dad will love how it does not look like a diaper bag at all.
