I Eat Chocolate More Often Now

Monday, September 19, 2011
posted by GiftGiver 10:05 AM

I am the type of person who loves chocolate so much. Whenever I have the chance to eat it, I do. But my dentist and my doctors have been very firm lately that I should cut out my chocolate consumption. I almost cried in front of them when they said it!

I told one of my closest friends about my problem. She is also a chocolate lover and she gave me a solution to my problem. Although I do need to cut down, I can eat chocolate more often without the guilt that I feel for my body. She gave me an organic chocolate gift and told me that it’s better and healthier that regular chocolates. I tried them and they tasted well. Now, that’s the only kind of chocolate that I eat san the guilt!

A fruit basket is basically a basket that is filled with different kinds of fruits. These fresh fruit gift boxes are traditionally given as gifts but can also be purchased for personal use. A fruit basket is usually tastefully arranged so that it is aesthetically pleasing to the recipient’s eye. Fruit baskets that are designed as gifts generally offer more than fruit to tempt a recipient’s palate. It may sometimes include a selection of cheeses, gourmet crackers, summer sausage, jams, and nuts.

Fruit baskets can be sent as get-well gifts, thank you gifts, birthday gifts, Christmas gifts, or for any other occasion that requires a gift to be sent. You may even give a fruit basket even if there is no occasion. Some businesses also like to send fruit baskets to their important clients to show how much they appreciate their business. A fruit basket may also be sent when there is a death in someone’s family. You can order fruit baskets online and have it delivered to a variety of locations.

The Best Dish in the World

My favorite food in the world is pancake. I just love it. I can eat it for breakfast, lunch or dinner. It is served best with pure maple syrup and bacon. Just thinking about it tonight makes me look forward to breakfast tomorrow. I know what I’ll be having.

My favorite restaurants are those that serve breakfast all day. I just love my pancakes. I drown them with pure maple syrup and eat them with bacon or sausage. For desserts, I love chocolate pancakes or other flavored pancakes. Also on my fav list is corndogs. They combine two of my best foods on the planet, hotdogs and pancakes.

Barbeque meat rubs may vary in taste but there is one ingredient that is always present. Salt is an important ingredient in any dish, more so in barbecue rubs. A distinguishing component of Hawaiian meat rubs is the use of Hawaiian sea salt in all its seasonings and rubs. Hawaiian sea salt has a distinctive taste that remind of the ocean. It makes a difference in the rubs and seasoning that you use in all your meats, poultry and seafood.

Hawaiian rubs and seasoning are packaged in jars or bags. They are sold as standalone organic salt or rub concoctions that are sure to make food taste better. Choose between red and white sea salt in coarse or fine grind. They are super to have in your kitchen. They are also great for gift giving.

Whether You’re Sick Or Not

Corporate gifts are not that exciting sometimes. Since I work in a big corporation I have received the most boring gifts from suppliers. Among the boring gifts I received were paperweights, memo pads, pens, desk calendars and executive diaries. When I gave birth to my son two years ago, I received really cool gifts from the companies like a bread basket and a bouquet of flowers. I also received a fresh fruit gift box.

A fresh fruit gift box looks like an elegant fruit mini crate. The crate boxes are wrapped in fancy wrapping paper and elaborate ribbons. The box looks so inviting and charming. I enjoyed the gift immensely. Unfortunately that was the only time I got a fruit box. Last Christmas, I was back to receiving calendars and memo pads.

Do It the Old Fashioned Way

Several years ago, I moved from Orlando to Philadelphia. I was not used to the weather and I would wrap myself in blankets every night. However eventually, I learned to love living in Pennsylvania. I discovered the Amish community in Lancaster and how good the food there is. I also met some people who taught me cider making Pennsylvania Dutch style. It was so cool and I learned to enjoy it every night at winter.

Cider making Pennsylvania Dutch style was a bit intimidating but eventually I got the hang of it. The old lady at the farm taught me how to do it. Since fresh apples were everywhere all you needed was apples and a machine. The machine would press the apples so we could get the juice. It is then allowed to ferment then transformed into cider.

One Special Gift

I rarely go to my parents’ farm. As much as I want to visit, work has kept me very busy. There is just so much to do at work, that it got to a point where I got sick and couldn’t go to the office for a couple of days. My sister suggested that I try to get away from it all even for a couple of days. Since I didn’t want to feel as horrible as I did, I decided to follow her advice and let my parents know I was coming.

I was surprised at how big it had become. The last time I was there, the house wasn’t even finished yet. Now the trees are big and the fruit ripe. Their house is now fully furnished, and the farm was huge. I could see that my parents are very happy and committed to making their farm grow. Before I left, my dad had made some fruit butter and bundled it into a fruit gift box so I wouldn’t have a hard time carrying them. Overall it was a wonderful trip, one which I will surely take again.

Pennsylvania Goodies

I always love going back to my old hometown in Pennsylvania. My grandparents still live there so we try to visit as often as possible. What I miss most there, aside from grannie and gramps are the Penn Dutch foods. These are homemade goodies that are produced in and around the PA “Dutch” Country.

My husband, who also hailed from Lancaster County, and I would often leave for home loaded with all sorts of Penn Dutch foods in the trunk of our car. Some of our favorites include:

  • Homemade fudge and darkstrap molasses
  • Peanut butter and jams
  • Kettle cooked potato chips and handmade pretzels
  • Cans and cans of birch beer

Everybody loves chicken. When properly seasoned, it is one of the best tasting foods there is. It is also healthier than pork or beef. Chicken breast in particular with skin removed, has less than one percent fat and has very low cholesterol. Chicken is very easy to cook and it fits among people who are into living healthy. For a healthier lifestyle that includes staying away from anything fried, you might want to try baking it instead. It is one of the most versatile meats since it can be used in soups and sandwiches. It can also be added in your pasta, vegetable and grain dishes.

For those who want their chicken really tasty, there are spices that can add a new dimension of flavor to your meal. You may marinate your chicken or use a chicken rub. With the use of various chicken rubs, you’ll be able to cook and enjoy it in different ways.
