Words of Wonder

For those down with pain and suffering, it is normal for individuals to try to find ways by which they can get that much needed boost and confidence to continue the battle of life. There are those of us who feel that there is no more hope in this world, and are drained by the thought that there is no solution to the problems that we face.

They say words matter a lot to us as individuals. Just like how important communication is to all of us, words provide that clear thought of what goes on inside of our heads. And through inspirational poems, we get to realize that there are those who understand what we are going through and give us that courage and optimism that life will go on if we only try to fight it out. Words feed our soul just like medicine would heal the infections in our bodies. Words of wonder makes a difference and provides a glimmer of hope to the one who needs it most.

A Very Special Gift

My best friend started to suffer from cancer three years ago. Every year, I would hope and pray that she would get better but sometimes I wondered if God could really hear my prayers. I could also see that she was slowly losing hope that she would get better. She even told me once that she just wanted to end her suffering and let all her loved ones move on.

When she told that to me I immediately panicked and thought of ways to help her feel better and believe that she should never lose hope. That’s why I did the research for inspirational gifts for cancer patients and found online articles. I did find lots of great ideas like books, CDs of inspirational songs, their favorite things and a bunch of other stuff. But I eventually came up with the idea of a scrapbook filled with pictures of her together with all her loved ones, quotes and random pictures that would help her remember that living is fun. I gave it to her one morning and she smiled while crying. She promised me that she will fight until the end and never forget to lead a happy life.
