When we give gifts, we are telling the person we are giving the gift to that we love her and that we took time off to go out and choose something special for her. When we buy gifts we think of the person and choose things that will fit their personality. For instance, we enjoy the look in a teenager’s eyes when she opens her gift and finds a pretty bag. Bags are always welcome among teenagers, especially if they are the kind that just came out of the market and only a few are fortunate to own one. Having her very own fashionable bag will make her the envy of her friends and classmates.
Bags are welcome because they are practical, usable and fill a function at the moment. Some gifts may not be as practical; they just remind people of happy memories in the past. Keepsake gifts will always be cherished. It could be a mother giving her daughter a piece of antique jewelry or Dad giving his son his collection of model cars. It is a way of telling the offspring that they are loved and giving them something precious is their way of showing it.
